Colorful People is a Czech-Slovak multi genre band with an impressive musical journey. The band formed in 2014, after studies at Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory in Prague, Czech Republic, and Raphael Rabello Music Institute in Brasília, Brazil.
The trio comprises of Czech singer, songwriter, bass player and percussionist Lenka Novotná, Slovak multi-instrumentalist, singer, composer and producer Juraj Holoda, and
Slovak singer, songwriter and percussionist Dušan Marko.
In 2016, they collaborated with students and alumni from the Berklee College of Music during a concert featuring Czech rockstar, Petr Janda, in the Red Room, Boston, USA.
In 2018, they showcased their versatility by performing their original music alongside famous bossa-novas by Antonio Carlos Jobim, accompanied by the South Czech Philharmonic in Metropol, České Budějovice. In 2019, Colorful People appeared on stage with Broadway star and America’s Got Talent finalist Moya Angela Campbell (USA) during a unique concert on the main square in Bratislava, Slovakia.
Their international collaborations extended to December 2019 when they performed alongside the Slovak choir Piarissimo in New York and Boston, USA.
In June 2021, they unveiled their debut album (EP) “Reflections vol.1” a reflection of their musical journey and inspiration, blending pop and soul with world music. In December 2022, the band released a single “I need you now“.
The band’s commitment to innovation shines through in their latest release (2023) “16/16/16”, an acoustic album featuring their unique arrangements of worldwide hits by artists such as Sting, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, Lionel Richie, Joss Stone, John Mayer, Leonard Cohen, Lianne La Havas, and more.
